About our Host

Since its inception in 1978, Black River Produce’s focus has been distributing quality locally grown product throughout New England. We partner with over 600 growers and producers with a team of over 200 employees. We take pride in the underlying, but central role, we play as the fresh connection between regional producers and our over 3,000 wholesale customers. We’ve grown considerably since our early days, but we’re still driven by the things that mattered to us then—our family of employees, the greater community, and environmental stewardship.

Let's Grow Kids LogoLet's Grow Kids

Let's Grow Kids is a statewide campaign about the need for more high-quality, affordable child care in Vermont to better support our children, families, communities and economy. More than 70% of Vermont children under age 6 have all of their parents in the labor force, meaning they're likely to need care. Yet, nearly half of those infants and toddlers don't have access to any regulated care, and nearly 80% don't have access to high-quality programs. Our goal is to gain public support for increased, sustainable investment that gives all children the chance to reach their full potential.

Merritt & Merritt

Rooted in Vermont

Rooted in Vermont is a grassroots movement to increase consumer demand for local food. Rooted in Vermont is shifting the local food narrative on social media and in Vermont communities to be inclusive of the many ways Vermonters enjoy and acquire local food. Traditions like gardening, hunting, fishing, and foraging are as core to Vermont’s local food movement as purchasing local food from farmers, restaurants, schools, and stores. Grassroots marketing efforts targeted towards Vermonters not already committed to purchasing local food will aim to stimulate increased awareness, participation, and purchases in Vermont’s local food economy and help local food consumption become mainstream in the next 5-10 years.

VCCIC

The Vermont Child Care Industry and Careers Council (VCCICC) works to enhance the knowledge, skills and status of child care providers by offering the Apprenticeship Program and other professional development activities, while coordinating and linking with other leaders and organizations, in order to build quality and sustain growth of the child care industry. VCCICC’s mission is to support Vermont’s children, families, communities, schools and businesses through the recruitment, development, mentoring and retention of qualified child care professionals. Our vision is that high quality child care is available for all Vermont children.
