Misclassification is a major problem in our economy – it hurts workers, businesses that are following the rules, and the sustainability of state programs. At the same time, new business models are challenging the traditional employment system as more Vermonters work as independent contractors. How can Vermont balance the need for a fair and equitable employment system with the swift changes in our economy? Our panel will dive deep into the issues surrounding employment law and detail one path forward that would allow for more flexibility and better compliance.
