About Our Host - Champlain Community Services

CHAMPLAIN COMMUNITY SERVICES (CCS) is a nonprofit developmental services organization that, “provides essential services to people with intellectual disabilities and autism, building a community where everyone participates and belongs.”

A true grassroots success story, CCS was founded in 1967 by the family members of individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. Poised to celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2017, CCS has emerged as a national leader in the field of supported employment – and self-employment – for people with disabilities.

CCS delivers highly individualized, one-to-one supports in:

  • Supported employment and self-employment
  • Career development for high school students with disabilities
  • Home and shared living supports
  • Community engagement

A proud member of VBSR, we embrace principles of environmental stewardship, deep community connection, and a robust competitive economy that is also just and socially responsible. A recent major renovation of our offices at historic Ft. Ethan Allen made us dramatically more energy efficient. We built an accessible raised bed vegetable garden to support our cooking classes. CCS builds partnerships that create business efficiencies and works across economic sectors to create a more diverse workforce.

Through Way2Work,our nationally recognized supported employment program, CCS is uniquely positioned and qualified to work with VBSR member businesses to enhance their CSR portfolios, strengthen their staffs, and help realize a more just and inclusive community.

Ask how your business can partner with CCS is building a community where everyone participates and belongs.
